For example, while Apple will back up all your SMS and iMessage conversations, Google only does this for Pixel phones and some devices running Android Oreo (8.1) and up, but still is not a perfect process. That said, we need to flag a couple backup problems-particularly on Android, where backups aren’t quite as clear-cut as they are on iOS.
